Early Pregnancy Ultrasound Images

There are several important ultrasound examinations that should be performed once your mare has been bred.

  1. 14 Days Post Ovulation: confirms pregnancy and allows for early identification of twins

  2. 40-45 Days Post Ovulation: reconfirm pregnancy

  3. 60-65 Days Post Ovulation: fetal sexing or

  4. 90-120 Days Post Ovulation: fetal sexing

  5. 5-6 Months Post Ovulation: reassess midterm pregnancy

Other important dates to remember for your mare’s prenatal care:

  1. Rhinopneumonitis Vaccinations at 5, 7 , & 9 months of pregnancy

  2. Prefoaling Vaccinations at 10 months of pregnancy

  3. Caslick Removal (if placed) at 10 months of pregnancy
